CHAMBER PROCEDURES

Motions

Parties may request oral argument on any motion, and the Court will schedule argument when it determines that argument may be helpful to resolution of the motion.  Judge Payson requires courtesy copies of motion papers filed in CM/ECF.

 

Requests for Adjournments or Enlargements of Time

Judge Payson follows the requirements of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.  When parties agree on a request for an extension, they should send a letter request to Judge Payson.  A formal motion is not necessary.  All letter requests should be sent by mail, facsimile or hand delivery.

 

Participation by Telephone

For conferences in civil matters, parties may request to participate via telephone by submitting a letter request to chambers in advance of the conference.  All letter requests should be sent by mail, facsimile or hand delivery.
